REHABILITATION THERAPY

By optimizing mobility, decreasing pain and increasing the overall fitness level of your pet, our goal is to assist you in maximizing your pet's quality of life. Through a variety of therapeutic exercises and modalities, canine rehabilitation works to improve function, promote healing, and restore movement and mobility. We achieve these goals through the use of acupuncture, therapeutic exercise, electrical stimulation, cold and heat therapy, therapeutic massage, pulsed electromagnetic therapy, and therapeutic laser.

Therapeutic Laser Treatment

Laser treatment is a form of light therapy that enhances cellular functions to promote healing.  This form of therapy assists with pain management, reduces inflammation, and accelerates tissue, wound, and nerve repair.

Assisi Loop Treatment

The Assisi Loop treatment is pulsed electromagnetic field therapy that enhances cellular pathways involved in decreasing inflammation.  It has also been shown to accelerate healing. This therapy is a safe and effective approach to pain management and is a great alternative or compliment to pharmaceutical therapies aimed at reducing pain and inflammation.  This therapy can be utilized in the comfort of your own home.

Acupuncture

Veterinary acupuncture stimulates the release of the body’s own pain relieving and anti-inflammatory substances.  The relaxation of the muscles at the needle insertion site creates both a local and generalized pain relieving effect. Veterinary acupuncture improves tissue blood flow, oxygenation, and removal of metabolic wastes and toxins.  Unlike prescription and over the counter medications, acupuncture lacks potential adverse side effects for your pet’s internal organs. Veterinary acupuncture is safe to do in combination with your pet’s medications and supplements and and be used to treat a variety of illnesses.

Massage & Myofascial Therapy

Massage & Myofascial therapy are used to release the adhesive restrictions within muscle fibers and restores the normal pressure that allows nerves, muscles, bones, and organs to function optimally.  The benefits of canine massage therapy include:

  • Relaxation
  • Increased oxygenation of the blood
  • Pain relief
  • Improved flexibility
  • Improved immune system
  • Reduced muscle tension, soreness, weakness, and spasms

Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic exercises are a combination of strengthening, balance, and awareness exercise, along with range of motion and stretching  It is used to improve a patient’s muscular and core strength, endurance, flexibility, mobility, speed, limb placement, and balance. It achieves these outcomes by increasing muscle mass, providing comfortable movement, and improving performance to reduce the risk of future injury.
